The first trepang was a tech demo the team made that led to this game. You can't play it anywhere, so this is the starting point.

Thank you for asking exactly what I was wondering. I don't know if you're like me but I hate starting a game series in non-sequential order; Saints Row 2, Dead Rising 2 (before they brought the others to steam).

trepang1 was trepang studio's first game, a game jam game. trepang2 was the temporary name for their next game but it kinda stuck.

I installed this game yesterday, played for 2 hours and I recognize this game as one exactly like a game I've played before. Same stupid gun play where the bullets fly all over the place instead of in a straight line per se, actual, gun fire. Same type of bs to go through, air vents, stay hidden in the shadows and all. Same AI enemy throwing flares all over the place and the lot. It doesn't even feel like a real game of a sort. Just a run through a building to get to the end boss and install of killing it, of which you can't, you just got to get past it and that's, game over.

dude, the prologue/first level is nothing like the rest of the game and more like a tutorial. if your bullets go everywhere you should stop holding down the fire button like in COD or BF and start to use focus and do precise shots but you refunded and this game isn't made for you which is fine.

Don't tell me how to play. Don't decide what game is for me or, not for me. I stopped playing COD and BF 8 years ago. I own them all but for the last release of BF. You know nothing about what's made for me. I was playing shooters before you were born.

Trepang 2 was almost like a placeholder title for their second project, but so many people came to know the game as 'Trepang2' that they kept the name in order for people to recognize it when it fully released.
