You uh, you might not be the target audience for this game if aiming in slow-mo is too much of a challenge.
That being said, while I did not experience the same issues with recoil that you describe, in general I will agree that the game mostly wants you to do the following:
- Get up close and personal (rather than engage over long range, mostly)
- Not use the SMG and often the assault rifle (most common enemy weapons) so that you don't just get infinite ammo for a reliable gun.
Pistol(s) and DMR are your long-range weapon choices. They're not *quite* as accurate as you'd want them to be but they work.
The SMG recoil limits it to very close range yeah
