Why are some of the cheats so hard to unlock

I'm not complaining nor am I asking for them to be made easier, just curious is all. Unlocking infinite focus reminds me of trying to unlock invincibility in Goldeneye.

Hi there! I'm going to answer, but this is just my opinion: I believe that some cheats like infinite focus soften the challenge too much (which can be a lot of fun for sure), but that might be more rewarding on a second run. The game's campaign is short so maybe devs want you to play the whole game as it's meant to be played first, then you'll be able to explore in other ways. Infinite cloak + infinite focus give you such a different experience, it's almost like a new superpower! so I think it has to do with replayability.

I honestly don't know. Infinite Focus & Infinite Grenades are quite the game-busters, but I do think it was a smidge unfair to put cheats, especially ones as fun (Or useful for the Kamera Tool enthusiasts) behind the "This is stupid!" difficulty (Extreme, sure, but Rage really is a "This is going to be most unfair" sort of affair).

Thankfully, they're not among the hardest missions to complete on Rage (Site 14 is borderline a breeze when you know it's routine well enough to slip past half of the firefights, but Oil Rig will make sure you know when best to trigger your Auto-Saves or otherwise deal with Rage Mode's nonsense).

One way to circumvent the need for Infinite Focus when making art is cranking the 'time-speed' down to around 0.3
That's about the same as using Focus in game, but it is a bit more tedious to use.

Another thing, if you want to do Oilrig easily on Rage (The one for Infinite Focus). Here is a video that shows a strat that is pretty easy to imitate.

Oh, believe me. Server Technician on Extreme taught me to bring my Proximity Mines to such missions (It helped turn one of my worst Extreme missions into one of my easiest Rage missions, mostly thanks to figuring out the best order of servers for myself, of which the mad-lad you mention also used to much greater effect than my no-friendlies & single-death run of it). In fact, Grenade Launcher & Shotgun (Unfolded Stock) did the job very nicely for the most part (I didn't use Incendiary Rounds until Subject 107 as I actually got slaughtered by 'dead grips' pretty often, even while slide-grabbing enemies on occasions, as well as wanting to avoid my own flames while I slid about with panicked trial-and-error tactics and grabbing whatever "free grenade-throw/focus-refill" I could). Although, the final Horizon HQ encounter definitely left me regretting picking the Grenade Launcher over the Minigun with Smart Rounds (Came in handy for the Helo as I just couldn't get the window-of-opportunity to use the DMR as I had done before).
