Second, games may take years to develope, let alone an indie dev.
If they are still in the founding stage what you expected in a couple of months, a full playable demo?
They have to research old city layouts, blueprints of a sinked ship (and slowly disappearing too) when there are almost none pics of the actual inside, mostly are archive images or imaginative pics, recreatd by similar ships of the same years.
Third, whater system it's since Bioshock that have effective physics.
Forth and last, what's your rant all about?
Oh, no I didnt realize I was in an unrelated forum! I TOTALLY thought this was a forum for Titanic Honor and Glory! God do I feel stupid.
You know that I know its an unrelated forum, please spare me sarcasm.
God forbid I thought I could talk about a sinking game on a sinking game forum, boy was I wrong. Jesus Christ. I appreciate the passive aggressive, immature, condescending & sarcastic question though.
Yeah, games take years to develop. Thanks for that useless piece of information.
All I said was I got impatient and decided to be surprised when it came out. Thats it, and youre treating me like crap, what the hell is your issue?
And as to your last question, are you serious? Youre asking what my "rant" is about? Um... did you read it? If you read it, you should know what it is about.
In fact, its obvious you read and understood what I was talking about just fine based on your awesome reply. So why are you asking what my "rant" is about after replying to it and addressing everything I said? What a ridiculous question.
Why did you perceive this as a "rant"? Why cant I just be trying to have a conversation about sinking games? Ive started and been a part of Steam Discussions about related games or slightly off topic stuff and nobody has been so upset about it as you, its like you took it personal.
I said I hope the water physics in the game are good, but I dont think they will be. This isnt to fault to development team, this is because I havent seen anything close to realistic water physics in any game and I imagine itd be hard to pull off.
Then I talked about how I got impatient with them spending so much time on the city for a Titanic game. I know, that makes me a piece of ♥♥♥♥. Sorry world. I wanted the game to come out to explore the ship but after 7 years I got impatient and decided to stop watching the progress so closely.
Thanks again for the awesome reply.
I tried the demo and it's amazing what they are about, pretty "small" but there's a lot of stuffs, and it's still less than a 10% of the whole stuff.
Being impatient, it's something, saying "Who cares, just stick to the sinking part and release it alredy" it's another matter. "youre not even done with the ship."
You know modeling took a lot of time, (it's my job) and in this case much more 'cause most references are lost, different and mostly by assumptions, and the devs don't want to reinvent it, but possibly make a 1:1 copy of the real ship, and probably of the events.
You know what a load of work it's for a small studio?
It will probably full of scripted events, it will be loaded of npc's, stories, events, maybe even some sort of quests.
I suppose they're goin' for an explorative/narrative adventure, and it's a massive work.
Do it yoursels if you're so impatient.
And i alredy quoted Bioshock, it's old as ♥♥♥♥ but have one of the most beautiful water phisyc system in videogames.
Cryostasis it's a good example too. It even have melting and freezing system in real time.
If you missed them your fault, there are a lot of good example of water physic.
