Holy grail quest

Hi,
Are we supposed to find all the diaries before searching for the grail?
I don't get how to enter the waterfall passage. I have tried
-going naked
-droping my gold at the lion paw
-rolling everywhere

Or is the first step bugged because I already found some other diary pages?
