Tanks are bit overpowered, you could add limit to ammo capacity to both, cannon and MG's, something like 30 cannon and 2000 mg rounds and then refill on stations like repair one.
Creating a Sniper class would be cool too :) Binoculars for officer class to be more precise on mortar strike sort of things.
Game idea and exec is on good level considering that You doing this alone, don't worry about assets accuses, these are public, available to everyone, yet no one created good enough game using them or maybe I dont know about such exists xD There is tons of possibilites to upgrade such game. All depends of how big your knowlegde is to bring these possibilites into the game. :)
A little selfish to ask, but would be cool in the future to add a battle where the war has begun, a battle on Polish territory :)

SPLIT-SCREEN.
We need ONE good contender to bring back the magic of Coach Gaming with two controllers on the same screen. A la TIME TO KILL or the Gears of War from consoles!
2.Light Tanks or Fast vehicles:motorcycles,cars or jeeps on large maps only for faster travel.
3.Artillery strike perk for either assault or officer class,because mortar and bombing strike doesn't seem to do much against tanks and deals 2x damage than mortar strike

4.Mortar class:has a portable mortar which takes time to set up,Area of Effect damage and has 20 rounds and a pistol as back up. Slow to move around though
5.Sniper class: although AI can pretty much snipe you with any weapon(except pistols lol)at long range so this class is optional
6.Medic class:(there are supply boxes and troops with first aid perk but it takes a while though to cooldown)can deploy medkits faster and can heal multiple troops
7.Paratrooper:Can be deployed behind enemy lines once or twice and afterwards can only be deployed on friendly points but can capture more faster than regular troops(provided theres atleast 3 paratroopers or least than 3 enemies on the point)
8.An option to select specific troops only I.e. Rifleman only,Assault,Suppot gunner or Anti tank only.
Well be looking forward for future updates for this game :)
Not many games explore the initial steps of the war so it would be cool to add a Polish map together with the polish skins for the allies or a french map 1940 with french soldiers allies skins
Anyway, My suggestion is that maybe there could be a diving action for diving into cover or other objects.
Also I noticed that when an AI holds a Bolt action weapon, they fire there weapon mid reload animation. Also there are multiple points on ponyri that tanks get stuck at. e.g. (At the german base camp)
At the present moment, it looks like enemy soldiers just run to capture points without any respect of their lives :')
Something simple, like using a pre-made library and defining some cover points behind the obstacles, or inside buildings (soldiers never go into buildings right now).
