Your favorite missions?
Hi!
I'm slowly planning to create a mission pack DLC for the game.
I would like to listen to your feedback to create something you will really enjoy.
So, what are your favourite missions and objectives?
Did you like custom mission mechanics like commanding a railgun battery?
Which missions you didn't like?

I think my favorite ones would be the all out war missions and the bunker mission. Bunker was very unique cuz it was indoors, would love to see the Echo squad eventually take the fight into some kind of creepy nest or some fleshy base that's been assimilated by the monsters with infested mechs and machinery.
The only mission I didn't much care for was the second to last. My favorites were the big battles with all the allied tanks because they remind me of my favorite EDF missions. The helicopters in the last mission were really cool too.

I'd happily pay for a mission pack or two.
I'll echo what someone said, Fleet Defence was doable but a bit frustrating. There wasn't much left or right movement that you could use to evade shots and the cover gets destroyed easily. Got it on the second try after swapping back weapons for lock on missiles, but that left the boss taking quite awhile without a heavier hitting Railgun or Howitzer to hit it with. Might have been better if one or two of the waves flanked the fleet so you have more room to operate? That or maybe a static cover you can peak out from. I liked the mission overall, just felt like a sitting duck with no real way to be defensive, it was all offense.

Fleet defense is incredibly easy when you have the starfire laser, which swipes those flyers from the sky. also allows the mounting of the hyper-v to kill the boss easily

You're going to need to offer a different strategy than "use this gun" because RNG isn't always friendly to everyone. I've got all the T1 guns except for 2, and that laser seems to be one of them. I've done several T1 raids now, usually going to Wave 9 or 10 before I decide to call it.

I got past the mission, I still think it would be beneficial to have a wave or two come from the port or starboard sides to allow for more avoidance space. In a mech game where the boundries are limited and we can't control altitude nor reduce incoming damage (Other than stacking armor) you really need to be able to either dodge incoming fire or take cover. That's pretty difficult to do when you can only move left or right by half a mech.

Conversely I'd love to see more indoor missions like the Underground Base. Unlike the ship there's a bit more room to move around and it wasn't as bad about heavy projectiles in a tight place. Felt a bit like playing Space Griffon on PS1 back in the day.
After replaying it today I think Odessa is my overall favorite mission. It has a nice forward momentum and the items scattered around the map are fun to pick up. Also I like how the tanks give more of a feeling that you're "pushing" forward and since they aggro some of the enemy I don't get swamped in them despite the map being more narrow. Having buildings for cover is nice for people like me who use a chonker of a mech and don't want to waste energy on boosters.
Hello there, here is my feedback and some ideas for the game.

First, Kudo's for making this, it's great knowing it was made by you alone !

Pros:
- This kind of gameplay is quite rare, there are very few games that can be compared with, but because it's rare and original, i enjoy it despite some part i dont really like.
- kinda realistic storytelling, i enjoyed it so far.

Co.ns:
- i feel like farming money is a requirement to get forward, doing missions one after another is really really tough, and at some point it's not possible to keep going because of the difficulty spikes. Even if i enjoyed the game, because i didn't wanted to waste time in farming money and doing repeatables missions, i cheated to give me some thought cheat engine.

ideas and proposals :
- introduce difficulty modes, higher difficulty gives more money per kill, but ennemies have more hp, it's a bit artificial difficulty, but it shouldn't be too hard to implement.
- add a close range weapon, like a sword, halberd or lance bound to a dedicated key, the idea is not to spam it or using it to combo, but having a high cooldown powerfull attack to break your way out whenever you are completely surrounded.
- allies should fire at incoming ennemy missiles if there are no other target available, to cover you or protect themselves.
- rng loot makes energy management really difficult, especially if your mech and weapons are very demanding, the active module that is supposed to help to regen energy is not very worth it.
- add an ennemy that scrambles your radar and coms with command, or just dont appear on it, with the right storytelling it can put a real pressure on the player.
- i think adding one or two more indoors mission (with ambushes) might be fun , especially with the previous idea, it would force you to constantly check your corners, or have moving patterns to avoid being stuck at all cost in narrow places.
- railguns should pick a target by themselves, or have longer reload but hit with way more damage, in last mission i feel like i always had to pick a target
- add a beam like energy weapon, because it's cool looking.
- add more ally mech to fight with during battles, having only 3 mech in the whole game so far it a bit sad, especially considering the mobility and how useful mechs are in this context of war, there should be more.
- add more allied infantry as well in siege like battles, it doesn't feel like the whole world took a gun and ran toward the front to help.

My favorite is the underground bunker mission however the other ones are great in their own way. I love the comments that the troops yell when they are in the fight also
Obviosly the most great misiion is Operation Firestorm. Thats when we have great scale of war spectacle and long events appearance. Its the best too make missions longer and several steps like this or defence of beach. Its not bad to put railguns nose where they need to shoot, but remembber - we have a dence horde of meat that demand our attention and another tonn of steel. Well yes. II suppose that you did nice with missions. May be it would be better to get a little larger scale to military base mission, enlarge base map, get inside some "hold position" spots to army and make it harder by the risk to loose entrance by the horde. So keep it like this, you done well with it at most.

About raids, campain and lots of useless money after some time of hunting for better gear: I think its will be just wonderfull to make an option "strike team" where we can use our bucks stockpiles to buy, update and customise our kill team. Annd i mmean not only the mechs but tannks, rocket lauunchers and helicopters too (Isnt it will be a shame to not use somewhere beyond first mission? Ohh... And yes, i like to see infantry in battle too. IIt makes more sense and scale). Well why? For campain to see more... errrr... "meaning" mechas from our squad and for 'counter invasion" missions looking like campain-raid-roguedungeon clash (hellow Muv-Luv UN attempts to capture/destroy one of hives!). May be it will be a point to spend our money and for "craft" like "take this useless 101 dal... ahem!... rifles and put it into furnace, burn a lot of green paper and have a chance to take a updated gear!" or "We need quadrillion of bucks to make experimental gun!". Why not? Its will be a fun and pleasure to get rid of our billions to make a chance to get something unusual like a laser rifle with great damage and energy demand, or micronuclear rockets, or drone bay station skill! Its for your choice and i understannd how much pain in the ass all of this options have! But honestly... I had allready restart game only to not look at the billions on my paycheck :)

Okay... End of offtop. Keep going, give us some times something like railartyllery strikes on missions, make them a bit longer and complicated and it will be just wonderfull.
I'd say the standout missions so far are as other people said, the bunker, Operation Firestorm, Weapon Test, Battle of Bosporus, and Kiev part 2.

The bunker was a good change of pace from the other missions and the atmosphere was done well.

Fire Typhoon was absolute chaos and shows how ridiculous the Reds are at adapting.

Weapon Test throws in something completely overpowered for fun which is good once in a while.

Bosporus + Kiev part 2 gives your allies a more prominent role, and you get to mark targets for rail gun artillery.
Personally the Raids are where I am having the most fun. Increasing waves and having to evac is cool.
Having a mission where you investigate the Russians involvement with the reds. Maybe taking out some of THEIR mechs with yours to get answers!

There are some hints in the game that it was joint project of USA and Turkey to use agains Russia but which went out of control due to how fast Reds mutate.
Kinda mirrowing nukes at Turkey's NATO airbase and Pentagon biolab program at the same time.

My theory is that player's unit and other forces supposed to be containment unit (or finish the rest of the Russian resistence after they were damaged by their own civilians turned into machines of death) coming at the guise of heroes for survivors, but Russian nuclear strikes by their own territory in attempt to contain the worst outbreaks resulted in the first phase of the the virus mutation and then it's all went downhill from this.

oh, but still it would be cool to fight other mech's
