unable to name my custom character

anyone know if there is a fix on begin able to name the custom character you made? during character creation I click on the naming window in order to put the name but all I get is a white box that asks me to input my characters name that I am unable to interact with has this been a thing ever since release?

This does not work with a gamepad. Use a keyboard and a mouse.
