Nitta falcon volley shot

Does anyone know why in story mode I can use this shot with Nitta but not in versus matches? I tried to search in edit mode but Nitta doesn't have the shot with the star

Look at your Appeal Mission. There is a mission for Nitta involving getting someone a high friendship rating. Do that and you'll unlock his shot. Either that or get Nitta's friendship to S. I forgot which one.
