It's both games in one. The removal of the death screen generating a random AVGN-style rant, changes in some enemies (most from the second game and had characters like Nostalgia Critic because developers feelings were hurt or some damn thing) and in some cases more forgiving placement of instant death blocks... To name a few.

Sorry for bumping this old thread but i wanted to know the exact same thing, the difference between the stand alone versions and this "deluxe" one which has both in one... fused, together lol

I found a video in AVGN youtube channel explaining this, best of all it's from the nerd itself, i don't want to watch much of it to avoid spoilers, i truly want to play this without knowing if im gonna find the bugs bunny pooping lol or the texas chainsaw massacre hillbilly guy or if the nerd drinks his classic beers during the game or board james etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwOVKV74khE

Might end buying the 3 games, the deluxe one and the 1 & 2 original, standalone versions, the deluxe one doesn't have trading cards, the 1 & 2 each one has achievements and trading cards.
anyways take it with a grain of salt after all the video could be considered as promo material, advertising etc but heck the price is good right now with steam sales.

Nah, Nostalgia Critic is so irrelevant these days so he got kicked out of the game.

Until he had a Spongebob special all about him lifting him up above his peers in relevance again. LOL

In reality all those guys are friends and get on fine and are happy for each other to do well though. The rivalry they had back in the day was just a scripted act for some fun and for the movies and shows they did. Generate excitement for the fans and so on.

Well no, their was some milkshake thing or... something? Idk. I didn't follow it and didn't care, but when the deluxe version was made, the guys that did the porting and stuff kinda went out of their way to talk about how they disagreed with NC's politics basically, and they removed his stuff, under the guise of wanting to make it about the AVGN universe or some damn thing.

I'm sure Doug and James and all of them are fine or whatever. But they (the guys that did the porting/remixing in the deluxe edition) did remove him because they didn't like what he said.
