Demo won't start on mac

Likely an issue with full game as well? Maybe no one has tried it on mac

Launcher starts but then the display get's all pixelated and messed up. Some sort of graphics bug

Seems to be something to do with steam overlay. At first the menu loads, but then when the bottom left steam overlay popup comes, everything gets screwed up

This one seems to have been a issue for quite some years, so either the overlay and part of the engine doesnt get along or the dev just doesnt know how to fix it, but alot of mac users had luck with disabling the overlay. (some have not had such luck however)

I have just run into this problem as well, however I cannot turn off steam overlay. The little slider on mac is greyed out and cannot be interacted with. I have spent the last 30 minutes scouring the internet for answers yet it seems nobody has my problem. does anyone here know a solution?

I can't imagine why it would be greyed out... i've done it and it works fine. Are you trying to turn the overlay off before or after you enter the game?

the game expects itself to be installed to ~/.local/share for some reason. To get around this you can go manage->browse game files and just run the songsofsyx file

Same issue here. Comes up okay for a second, then gets a weird pixelated view of the steam page underneath the window, then just just goes black after a few more seconds.
edit: but disabling steam overlay seems to work
