i always die out at 300-600 people how do you guys make empires?

Just like Roman Empire do two thousand years ago (slaves and tribute).

dont ignore slaves or trade. trading is a huge game mechanic. chopping wood and selling it is an early game cheat code to import small misc stuff you need.

Step 1: sell profitable or expendable resources that are lying around like livestock (trees and rocks can also be used)

Step 2: slavery helps a lot

Step 3: by 500 pop you should start conquering the free regions around for tributes and slaves

Step 4: conquer more and grab more slaves.

Start with humans near lake, replace shallow water with grain farms at near 100% fertility, place Entelodont pastures near them for +25% bonus. Sell livestock - this will get you enough money for emergencies.

Research technology and upgrade your services - this will give you enough happines to avoid any kind of rioting.

These are the main reasons for game over, AFAIK.

thanks! i realized ive been doing farming wrong after looking at a bunch of guides. i also didnt invest into tech that much, kinda just overproduced alot after coming from factorio lmao

do you know of any mods that add industry or something? i feel like some late game factory elements would be amazing for this.

mass production of weapons while a small farmer population can take care of 1000s of peoples food needs

and i can send the rest of the peasants out to war to take over the world

would be pretty cool

havent looked much for mods but I know the community does use a lot of em so its worth waiting or even creating a new thread for that subject. Also discord is very active and might have updated mods to recommend.

Don't listen to the slave owners, slavery is bad, you shouldn't do it even if it's in a game.
