"Squareness". Limiting player creativity?
I feel like I can't build as I want with this new feature; everything gotta be blocky now to satisfy my people. I would REALLY like to build my inefficient, but pretty, structures again. Circular, triangular, you name it. I wanna build like that without being punished for it beyond simply not being as cost effective.
Thoughts on the squareness thing?

It should probably be a gauge between organic <-> square, indicating that it's not strictly a good/bad thing. The reason for this is that I want the layout to actually matter. That if you build an organic-looking city, it will affect your citizens.

Couldn't you make the same argument about any racial specific preference? Cretons need vegetables and wood buildings? Dondorians are happiest in mountain?

I prefer racial preferences, makes them feel alive to me as opposed to automatons.

I see your point, but not really. My argument is purely an argument for the sake of visual aesthetics.

Imho the effect is so miniscule, I would argue that necessity to keep any sane level of efficiency is bigger constraint than squarness stat.
