How do you handle law/government fulfillment? In my city, as soon as the execution time window ends, if I want my happiness to stay high, I have to manually select a random dude in prison or stockade and execute him. It is tedious and annoying. Also whenever the execution runs out and you have no prisoners, then you're up the creek, atleast I am.

You can automate those in the law menu.
Manual sentences are a bit bugged at the moment and will give you more law satisfaction than intended. Perhaps that got fixed already.

I suspect that for many, the ins and outs of the law system need some clarification. I know I worked it out, but persistence and frustration go ill together.

Take a look at the law section in the ingame wiki if you have some time. Perhaps I missed some things that have become too obvious after playing so long.
