Do they automatically forage?
I am having a hard time understanding if my villagers will automatically forage for nearby food-stuff, or not.
Including rocks, that are just laying on the ground. I have no idea how to make my workers pick them up and put them in my warehouse.
I know how to Mine for stones, however.

Do workers automatically forage for food, as well pick up rocks on the ground?

Also; it is unclear how to 'start up farms'. After I build a farm. Nothing grows.
I take it that the farm has to be planted. Which means foragers must find the resources grown "from the land" in the wild. Then bring it back to the farm to plant them. Instead of eat them; or store them in the warehouse.

Do workers understand how to do all this automatically?. Or; is there some way that I have to manually direct them. To forage in the wilds. And then to plant on farms.

No they don't auto forage. On the bottom of the screen are a bunch of tabs. The 3rd from the right labeled jobs has fell trees, clear rocks and forage. You have to use these to mark what you want foraged and what rocks and trees to harvest.

When you hold right click on the mouse, it shows where resources and foragable goods are. You mark them for foraging and when the season is right and they are ready, your villagers will go grab them.

Food is king. You want to go hard into food and keep on it. When you are creating a farm, you want to put it in a spot with good fertility. Preferable at least 80% or higher. When the farm is created, click on it. There is a slider to assign workers to it. When assigned they auto farm and handle everything themselves, but remember you harvest your fields once a year. You start with a certain amount of crops in the beginning, i don't remember what or how much. But make sure you have enough to plant into your farm. If they don't have enough to start the farm, they will probably sit there and wait for the rest before they start farming, which in the beginning will never happen.

I would get a pig farm up as fast as possible. And then start working towards hunters. 10 hunters will bring in a ton of meat without diminishing returns.

I recommend checking out icons v66 playlist on you tube, really good info.
