Slave mass.... suicide? Protest?
My slaves submission started to drop for the first time in my game.
my normal population is 2.93k and my slave population was around 5k.
I hadnt realized it got that big until i ended my war. But i started getting the submission notice and checked right away. declared a day off and managed to fix it for a moment, but after i concluded my war i got the notice again, and told to station troops at my throne "just in case". So i saved my game.
i think saving might have screwed me.
im not sure if this is a bug or not though, either.
A vast number of my slaves are gathering outside my walls, in a semi-circle on the side of the mountain. But they arent doing anything, mousing over says "Minding own business!"

i assumed it was the beginning of an uprising and mobilized my troops.... for about a year.
They just stood there, getting filthy, starving to death, and since it was the height of winter, freezing to death.
Hundreds starving and freezing on the ground outside, and no rhyme or reason. i reloaded my game and didnt mobilize my troops this time, and its playing out the same way. I fear i may have screwed myself with that save. ive relied on autosaves being generous for this whole time, and used only one, and if this is a bug, its game breaking.
Industries across the board are starting to dwindle. i have 2k free workforce to shift around, but im totally confused.

Is this the prelude to a slave revolt, or is the game broken?

Consensus is...
"lol. lmao even"
and i find that equally hilarious.
having some time to think about it, im probably going to be fine. set back a bit, but fine lol

Edit: "fine" is a relative statement. they definitely were going to revolt, as the corpses are leaving behind piles of armor and weapons. but they also seem to be taking an unbelievably long time to die. Like, starving to death for years, long.
in the meantime, a massive plague broke out and i decided the best course of action was to lock the gates on the slaves side of the river and strand them there whilei quarantined the city.

Im staring down the barrel of a pretty big gun, and im not sure if im watching a slow motion collapse of my empire, or im in a nosedive and pulling up. My administration is currently -3.71k, my research is -19.7k and my villages across my empire are becoming inert from sudden negative build points, admin, and workforce. i still have some food coming in, but it seems like a war of attrition now, where i either outlive the slaves outside, or fall apart. it could take a decade for them all to die of hunger and exposure at this rate, and i decided to wall them in and lock the gates, so i can reopen my kingdom. but everytime i would unlock them to dump the bodies, a fresh new round of slaves would run out with supplies and join them.

No idea what im going to do, but for the moment, my kingdom is gutshot lol

So i have concluded this was a bug.
I just saved again and emancipated ALL my slaves. i freed them all, so i can prosecute them and re-enslave them.
as soon as each race was emancipated, the respective race of slaves in the mob, stopped standing and spinning, and just dropped dead.

must have been something in the code, breaking that kept some of them from dying, but they remained employed in my industries, so things werent getting done, but i couldnt shift new labor in to replace them. Problem seems solved, now i just need to handle the fallout.

spoke too soon, my save is bricked. all slaves, regardless of when i got them, will steal all the weapons and equipment from my warehouses and run back to that spot. im watching tens of thousands of weapons and armor rot in the field and nobody will touch them.

RIP my save

I don't know what is going on there. Also had a slave uprising of 20 slaves lol, so I think it is kinda buggy atm
I have the same bug. My slaves just eternally stand in armor while some slaves go in and out of storage rooms. Been years and it pretty much ruined my save.

Thats extremely disheartening.
i think this post was around the last time i played this game in earnest, hoping it would get resolved. But after 3/4 of a year, hearing its still in makes me not want to return :/
This isnt a WoW private server, i dont relish the idea of losing hours of time and progress and having to start all over through no fault of my own lol

If you have the save files for this bug I am sure Jake would welcome their being posted to the discord.
