Range Unit friendly fire itself?
Is this a bug? I have range unit taking damage against melee units, no enemy range in sight. My range unit suddenly take casualties and blood mark on the place of death. Are my range group that roll a critical failure or something?

I've also seen this. I imagine about 1% of all troops were born with psychic power and everyone just doesn't bring it up.

if your archers are in 2 rows then sometimes the back rank hits the front rank which is pretty stupid, think point blank archering your mate in the head while his back is turned.

sometimes the enemy has bows as well as melee weapons, so it could actually be your archers are receiving fire also, since its extremely hard to see archers actually shooting its very easy to miss.

Archers in same formation if not in single line will shoot each other in the head at point blank. If they were in different formation it will kind of make sense, but even then looks strange.

I'm pretty sure there's a bug with the ranged units.

I reported something similar on the bug forum, buy my archers were taking damage from raiders while they had no archers of their own alive. I chalked it up to the ranged unit's I killed were still able to attack, but I guess it's equally likely your own archers are friendly firing themselves. Although I've definitely seen my archer units fire and not hurt themselves.

I don't think it can be completely explained by friendly fire. Of the few times I've noticed this happening with confidence, I distinctly remember a back-row unit exploding. I also don't recall it coinciding with a volley being fired, but it's pretty hard to tell when that's happening, so I could be wrong there.
definitely this, i found that the issue is accuracy
