Spoilage rate
can someone please explain me the calculation of spoilage. When i get a bonus of 0.2 (20%) the spoilage rate of the food (for example bread) drops from -60% stored to -51.72%... wheres my 20% bonus, thats only roundabout 15%

Hint: i started with conservation in easy+ mode

Okay, it seems like you already start with a 25% boost.

0,75/0,60 = 1.25

Then you get to the first tier conservation tech which says +0.2 Lets try it out.

0,75/0,5172 = 1.45

Seems legit... but only if you know the original numerator (75%), which it doesn't apparently say if you are playing on easy.

if you mouse over dont they give detailed descriptions?

When i mouse over, i only see the current spoilage rate. But i want to know how this is calculated, because the describtion of the spoilage tech tells me, there is a 20% bonus and i can't see a way where the 20% are. I only see ~15%.

The spoilage for stored bread is 75%

With the 0.2 conservation tech it is 62,5%

0,75/0,625 = 1,2

If you increase the conservation tech again to 0.4 you get

0.75/0.5357 = 1,4

The numerator of the equation is the original STORED spoilage rate. For Bread it is 0,75. For Wood it is 0.225 and so on.

Ah, interesting. I think there is something wrong with the spoilage rate calculation when i go with conservation easy+ (which i do). Then i started with 60% and dropped with the first tier down to -51.72%.
Thank you for the hint!

Thank you for posting this question so that we could explore it together. I learned as much as you did.
