ONe of my favorite foibles of the Tilapi is that they simultaneously want to execute a lot but also please pardon a few from time to time, Mista Despot.

Law seems to be a problem in v66. It is still working, but... works kind of funny way sometimes. And sometimes doesnt work at all.

I think its because on low crime small towns, any unpunished crime is like a scandal (like IRL)

1 un-punished crime in 3 total crimes is a staggering 33%.

Does anyone with +5K population can report this also happening on high populations? I suspect it might tend to regularize...

Realistic then.

Yeah, the sheer randomness is on its way of killing my first good run so far.
i dont even know why theyre unhappy, every possible law building is built, accessible, some even upgraded and staffed.

yet still my people are super unhappy with law. i dont even find the dumb slider for early retirement anymore, that used to at least make them shut it for a few months.
city is drowning in food, housing, entertainment and money yet these idiots fight each other until my hospitals are filled.

Great game, but in .66 law is HORRID.
not only gameplay wise, but the UI also sucks the chrome off of exhaust pipes.

It gets better with growing pop, since a single unpunished crime doesn't kill your law rating. Hitting 100% is also alot harder, but since the law doesn't jump that hard and you have more fulfillment in general, it feels better.

What you also need to take a look at is what types of punishment your citizens prefer, since this also has an influence on the law rating.

All in all, the general idea of law/crime isn't bad, but it really needs polishing, so that it causes less headache pre 1k pop.

Actually, I dont think it is true. From my own recent experience I can say that law easily drops from 90-95% to as low as 50-60% or even 35% just like that. I had 2k+ pops (though I have restarted game at this point, so didnt have a chance to grow city even bigger) and city well covered with guardposts and all other stuff... yet even single crimes could totally wreck everything. Another thing is that we dont have any way to influence actual arrest rate - we can only decide on how to punish criminals. 100% arrest rate is possible only when... there are no crimes. But when crimes happen it drops in seconds.
