Canals and roads
Am I missing something? How do I make roads / bridges over my Canals? Do I have to use the Culverts? what is the radius of them / more info on them?

Hmmm looks like the roads over the canals come automatically but only at right angles ie not diagonally
Thats just ivsual as there are no boats in the game afaik

I'm also a little confused, how do I cross a river? Got one running through my map, and I need to get over there to get some stone

the small ones you can just cross, the deep water ones you just build a road over it

For some reason I thought Gamatron added bridges. If not, the usual way is to use the "remove water" command and build your road. Looks like you can build on shallow water but need the command for deep. It's not ideal but as there are no boats or other ship traffic you aren't really impacting anything.

There are bridges in v65 beta but I think it only happens over deep water. and they fill shallow water when you try to build over

Guys I think he is talking about the canals you create to run sweet water to farms, pools, etc... i.e. in the new v65 version of the game... I honestly am wondering the same thing, can I have roads go across my canals? And the culverts are confusing as heck, I built a few but they don't seem to work, it's totally unclear whether they are getting water and/or what their range is.

Roads go across canals, but not along. Just like in Amsterdam.
