End game, how has it changed in 2023?
Hi guys,

I loved the game a year ago, but put it a bit on hold as the end game was not developed yet. Basically, after you have developed your capital, there was not much to do as the other factions could not engage in diplomacy or attack you. How has the end game developed now?
- Do the factions in the world develop just like you do?
- Is there now a working diplomacy feature in which faction interact with each other?
- Is the world changing because of wars and alliances between factions?
- How does the end victory look now? So how do you achieve victory in the end game?

Thx!

From my experience playing update 64

- They do get into war, mostly civil war. Some kingdom just fall into total anarchism and capitulated by their neighbor.
- I only experience between me and other faction. Never seen other faction engaging against other faction. Maybe im too focus to my small nation that choked inbetween 2 massive kingdom that has 1 large territory that always decent into free region and keep changing hands.
- I never seen alliance. Maybe i forgot or not noticing it.
- Never manage to conquer entire map. Its hard to trade when my neighbors always had warmongering racist king/queen. I have to stage assassination and backing more favorable heir in their kingdom.
Other factions do engage in war at least. Its even in the tab next to your messages, you get popup alerts when factions break themselves, usually though its just one area going independent as a free tile not the whole country falling apart like the alert suggests.

Annoyingly the world map factions in v64 don't manage their administration because they build things without admin points and it doesn't hinder them because they are AI and when you capture their Territories you literally have to strip most of the buildings out of the territory because you can't re manage build materials etc. while in a deficit because until you clear out their mess you get no tributes nor can you build the construction building to actually have the materials that where required for buildings that where already built.

Diplomacy is just sending emissaries to your neighbors to "Butter them up" with flattery, more often then not their traits don't seem to get taken into consideration for if flattery even works its just sending enough emissaries until they start having their opinion of you tick up. ea v65 seems to have more reasons to like you like being a trade neighbor or having a trade pact. Haven't gotten far enough yet to see if having even 1-mill is too much for your neighbors to bare looking at you.

The only alliance that seems to exist in v64 is a mutual hatred of you, if you hold too much money on hand, basically if your hated by your adjacent neighbors bad enough they just "Declare a join war" on you and it will tell you of all the belligerents in the declaration. maybe if you conquer the entire map you now are self sufficient in resources you just sit on your bottom in your capital managing the world affairs in safety. But more likely you'll be unable to maintain enough admin to keep everything and the furthest areas break free or rebel.

Far more likely though is you'll hit a wall where your every neighbor hates you too much because you can't spend all your money as fast as you make it and you can't find enough army's to fill out your ranks fast enough, you can't negotiate as their negative penalties will easily outweigh your flattery and the world eventually declares joint war on you and you have to manage armies coming at you on your every border. But maybe when your capital falls your nation will be remembered for a millennia like Rome falling to the unwashed hordes. That's not so bad as someone who plays dwarf fortress as well "Losing is !FUN!" is a saying for a reason.

Thx for the feedback guys! Really appreciate it.

So the endgame has improved from what I can read a lot, but it still is in development. The current wars are only Civil wars or an alliance against you as player if you become too strong (e.g. earn a lot of money).

But there are still no real wars between AI factions right? For example 2 major countries that become rivals and start fighting.

Do major countries disappear when they loose a war? Has anyone see major factions die, because of a war that they lost against other AI factions?

I think the dev said that the major end game / kingdom overworld management overhaul is coming next update but double check by watching the most recent video in the update section.

Yes, i seen 1 faction just disappear from map because its territories seceded one by one and taken by its neighbor. Its capital stand on not so rich resource region, so its army just shrink drastically and defeated by its neighbor. Apparently, very small and rich AI faction do attacked by their neighbors.
