Corruption of Saves

Has the game reached a point where saves wont be corrupted and unusable?

if you use a save from an older version but updated the game you may have to start over

Ive yet that to have a corrupted save, even with a corrupted save, the auto save is very often and uses 3-4 rolling slots. if you disable it of course you want to use 2-3 slots yourself on a rotation to be safe.

As mentioned this game does not feature backwards compatibility for older versions, and it wont, this feature takes alot of effort each update to do, and this dev would rather put that effort into other things (this would bother me if it was a rpg ect), to compensate we can use the beta tab to use any old version we want to continue our previous games.

If your having issues with corrupted saves, you should report this to the dev, ive not seen anyone have this issue, which would make it a very rare bug (or hardware issues/failure).

Nah having to restart a save after every update for new content is a huge turn off. It's on the onus of the developer to build backwards compatibility into the updates. Doing otherwise shows a lack of care and is a sign of poor development planning.

oh my :O I had a save game with a big population, all map constructed, and it was working while I was updating the game, but I was not playing for some weeks and latest update finally killed all the save games!
I hope when the game is more complete the dev can put the focus here otherwise is a bummer :D Honestly, I will play other games until this is fixed.

If you wish to move on with your previous save you go to the game proprieties in steam and then betas and select the the version it last worked on. Needless to say this means you wont get the new content but it will allow you to finish your game.
