Option when Buying slave to set them free?

had another thought on a good feature the Dev should think about adding a check box or another way to let you buy slaves but have them auto set free so you don't upset your pops when buying slaves.
Unless my timing is off it seems when I buy slaves pops of that type loses happiness and doesn't seem to gain any back when the ones i just bought.

I think that would kind of be messing with the whole point of the slavery-happiness aspect.

I don't see how. If I am buy them to set them free when playing slave free, Or then a option not to have the slaver show up and offer me slaves would be fine. heck it could cost a more when you select the "buy to free" option and add a small happiness boost for a short while for being a good lord setting people free.

I agree with the op on this one. I am Lord Bob (Breaker of Chains) of the Free City of Novestar. We are a city of Cretonian dedicated to the freedom of our race. Whenever we see slaves of our own kind we buy as many as we can and set them free at once. It is my dream that one day all of my people will be set free.

When you set slaves free, your "former slave" stat goes up (in a negative way) for your citizens that is permanent. This is to simulate the sort of pride people feel about being native to a country, they don't like immigrants, or freed slaves.

That might change my play style a bit, getting hit for immigration/population going up, and a second hit for former slaves will def slow down immigration. Next play through might be a little different.
