Cant keep up on food
I have 1400 people, 450-500 on farms and 300 in the kitchen. Yet my food dwindles quickly and I can't get any sort of surplus. All the farms have a great yield too. Any help? Am I missing something? Thank you

Food imports can help you out. You can also reduce rations.

300 in kitchens seem quite high? Maybe put 100 of those in a library and research farm boosts?

Got the same problem, it seems that kitchens needs a ton of workers, I have 2.3k people atm and like 300 cooks and it's not enough, meals are always 0/1500, depleted by a horde of empty stomachs. I still produce enough raw food to feed kitchens, that is not the problem.

I research general +30% productivity also.

I have 900 people. Those are fed by 48 farms of the size 10*25, 7 pastures of the size 25x25 and 3 fisheries staffed by a total of 32 people. No mushrooms on this map, so importing those and more fish. This takes 3 kitchens, staffed by 96, 64 and 48 people as well as 3 bakeries staffed by 16 each.

Are you having short distances to the storage from the kitchen? That really helps. Are you having tools assigned to the kitchens? You want a full 6 (of 6). That also helps.

Yes, indeed, the distance of kitchens to food can kill productivity, same with all industries. One needs a warehouse close by.
