A few things to know.
You need to have 1 receiving building for each trade good you want to import.
You need to make sure someone actually has the resource for sale, or it might take forever to ever get that resource. I tried buying meat, for instance, but in my world very few regions sell meat and I never received any meat. I switched to fish and then I managed to get something.
As mentioned above by Gianicua you have to have money first. In my game it says I had 1000 gold, but I think that is a bug... I think you start with zero money. So you need to sell something before you can buy something.
It takes a long time for purchases to arrive, longer than it does to sell stuff. Once a purchase is secured it will show as incoming.
It takes like 3 or 4 days to finally start getting trade to do anything. It doesn't go quickly.
You can start watching at 6:30
I'm working on making this a bit clearer in game. I've also noticed that other factions doesn't produce that many goods, especially if they are poor. You can see how many goods they have in the resource screen.
Thats clears things up.
Also it would be nice to be able to receive any goods we want in a single building, so long as we have the room to choose them, much like warehouse and storage works. The sliders on the export building is good - why not just have the same (in reverse function) on the import building (or combine them into one building, and let us drag sliders in both directions for each good).
It doesn't make sense that we start with no gold, otherwise nobody would be able to trade with anyone - someone must be starting with gold/credit score! That's not fair on us. The AI already seems to build out their kingdoms like monsters anyway.
edit: in my current game there's a huge blob faction that I'm exporting to which only hurts me and everyone else - is there a way to restrict trading with them?
Did you create an import hub and activate it?
Do you have money to import?
if you dont visit the goods tab nothin will happen to your depot.
at the current state, if i deactivated the import depot when there is goods stored at depot, why the worker wont haul the goods?
is it because the import depot doesnt has any worker?
is it supposed to be working this way?
