Save file has disappeared

Making my way through the game and was really enjoying it. A couple nights ago I quit the game after an annoying death in chapter 3 caused by me being tired (exited while still in the post-death portal area, not sure if that matters). The next day when i went to open the game my save file was nowhere to be found and in fact there was no continue option, only new game. Looking into the files it does not seem like the save is even there anymore, but I did not do anything with the computer that would have affected those files in the meantime. Has anyone experienced issues with save files disappearing like this before?

Hello, I'm having the same issue. Did you ever figure out how to fix it? I really don't want to have to redo all my progress.

Hi, I'm in the same boat (no pun intended) as you two. I was in chapter 2, I was just finishing to craft some stuff, saved my game, exit and then my save file was gone.

Happened three time with me in the epic version. not going beck without a fix.

yup never figured it out and tbh haven't gone back to the game basically because of that. dont want to invest more time in a game that might just randomly decide to delete that progress. sorry I have no answer for you guys but at least i know its not just me. misery loves company and all...
