No Win 7 support: Back to Desktop / New Game crashes
I just purchased, installed & started the game, but when clicking on New Game, it crashes/closes. I rebooted my system and checked starting the game with default settings and low settings, but no change.
Any one with same experience?

Windows 7
i5 6600K
GeForce 970
2560x1440

We are very sorry! This is a known issue (also outlined in our FAQ).

It is a Unity bug and we will do our best to fix it in the first patch. Currently, the Steam page should not list Windows 7 as a supported OS. We had to remove it from there when we found the issue.

Your issue is Windows 7

The min requirement is Windows 8

OMG, I overlooked the support list, my fault. Thanks for your answers, I altered the thread title so other users might recognize.

Upgrading to Windows 10 isn't an option? The free ugrade inofficially still works, their servers are still up. I just did it 3 weeks ago. It takes ~30 minutes and you're good to go.
Uuuhh, fortunately I went through the lot of migration work and did a clean install of Win10, because of MSFS 2020. A lot of work, but pays out. Some less crashes.

Any idea when "Soon" is gonna be? A week? A month? I was very hyped up for the game and the fact Win7 support was pulled down at the last stretch really left me disappointed.

No excuse for using Win 7 in 2020.

Was a good OS, but time to move on.

The previous game ran on Win 7, so expecting it to also do that, isn't a wild idea.

I bought the game, opened a beer, game crashed and now I have to wait until the patch arrives. I hope it does soon, but if it doesn't, I'll still keep the game until upgrading to Win 10.

Fair enough :)

Well IMHO maybe no excuse, but 50% of people still use WIN7 as OS, so I would expect that the game could be made on Win7 as well - it means aprox. 50% more customers...IMHO :-)

It's a person's choice to continue to use an outdated OS.

But to expect things to continue to work on said OS is not a good idea.

According to latest Steam survey, only 5,5% use Win7, whereas 88.5% use Win10.

Yep, win 7 users are the minority. Not worth the effort anymore to try and get the latest software and games to run on it.

I understand that some people want to endlessly discuss the topic of OS usage statistics, but at the end of the day - the dev listed the game as Win7 compatible at first, then moved that to Win 8/10 only a short time before the launch, and said that if they fix a Unity bug it's gonna work on Win7. I just want a simple answer from the devs on the ETA of the patch, not an answer from the peanut gallery.

I've enjoyed the last game and I want to give the devs my money.

They found a bug at the end, of an OS that is no longer supported.

I think all devs from now on should not even bother list win 7 as compatible.

Want to give devs your money, upgrade.
