How do you play this game?

I read the guides and went to the wiki, but I don't see a bar when I attempt to capture or escape surprise fun. I'm spamming space bar, E, and left click, but nothing happens.

A lot of the guides and discussions are out dated. Wild "encounters" now just compare your stats to the wild ones stats and you win or lose based on that. I don't see a way to view stats in game (I saw a post that said it was the I key, but i pushed all the buttons on my keyboard). So best to assume if you're losing, just keep going and level up more (you only level up with wild sex and sex in the breeding pen).

While I like the look and feel of the new UI, the change did remove a LOT of features, settings, options and made the wild events bland by removing the mini-game to capture or lose them.
