I don't want the newer updates

We all know the free Steam branch of this game hasn't been updated since 2022, and while some of the changes made since then are positive, like for instance improving the UI, others seem... Less good.

First off, "world levels" have been removed and replaced by something called "essence".
Why does this matter? Well, because essence only progresses through sacrificing Nephelym with specific traits at the temple, while world levels let you progress just as a byproduct of playing the game.

We already have breeding quests in the game, so why would we need more of the same thing?

Secondly, and I think this is by far the biggest change, stats have been condensed and reduced. Strength, Dexterity, Willpower, and Allure are all gone, replaced only by "Aptitude".

This means that there are TWO stats per Nephelym, down from five.

Oh, and also, you can no longer check your breeder's stats on the go, at least from what I've read. You need to go back to camp in order to do so, which I assume can really mess with your ability to catch new Nephelym.


I don't know why I felt the need to vent about this, but I did.

You just have to create an empty text file and name it "imma.degenerate" in the install folder.

I did it myself, as long as you make sure the file extension is .degenerate, replacing .txt it works perfectly.

But that also means you need to have file extensions shown, if you just name the file "imma.degenerate" with file extensions hidden it doesn't work, but that wasn't an issue for me since I always show file extensions.


I did backup the steam version tho, just feels a bit disappointing that any new version that might add more content will be "dumbed down"...

At least, I wish the old stat menu you could bring up by pressing "I" got reimplemented.

As things are I see no real reason to sub to the Patreon, because the UI improvements don't outweigh the simplification of stats and relocation of the player stat menu.
