Any Cheats to reset Mega Slime?

Is there any way like a cheat code to reset mega slime? I really don't want to have to waste all my progress and restart over just to not make her cry which I thought was the only way since there really is no in game direction on how to approach this character.

No, as far as I know. The only possibility is to use another safe game before you took the key. If you don't want her to cry, you have to get the silver pearl from the shell in the sea. A bit of searching work. Oh, and before that, you must approach the sea princess (kraken).
Little tip: Make more safe games, because you don't know, when a bug appears. After all it is an alpha.

I have heard that she awakens after some days now, but I haven't seen confirmation.

This is correct. If you don't want to steal the keystone, just rest a few days and eventually she will wake up again. You may or may not need to own the pearl already, but I'm not sure.
