That's your spirit energy. You need this energy to change to your Spirit Form. Leylanna in the Temple has more information about the Spirit Form.

I thought it was milk...duh! Fern suckled and my blue bar was half full, I assumed she had drained me a little. Spirit...thank you for clearing that up.

the better question is, what about the Health bar? is there gonna be hostile native life, radiological hazards, or just good old fashioned "biohazards"?
