How do you counter a reflect damage build?
I'm still stuck in 2nd division. I can't get passed the reflect damage builds Kumar and Chappie. I don't have to fight Kumar, but I do have to fight Chappie to progress.

The problem is that my guy has a glass jaw because he's an Agility build.

What's the best way to counter a reflect damage build as an Agility fighter?

Are you able to purchase strength-boosting drugs?

i don't know about agility builds, i went stamina/tortoise route and the easiest way i found to beat these guys is to hit them as hard as you can. they do not defend at all, so you can use abilities that do extra damage to them when they don't defend and stuff like that.

yes you take some reflect damage, but they take so much extra damage that you'll wreck them if you go all out damage wise. you will far outdamage them then their reflect will against you.

in most cases i beat all of those builds in the 1st round before they could even attack. just annihilated them

Yeah, you basically just hit them really hard. Even with the reflected damage, you should be killing them before they kill you.

This was with an agility build, as well. Those builds typically have very low initiative, so it's pretty easy to basically never take any actual hits. The only damage you receive is the reflected stuff.

Read my comment in the other topic i describe how

IIRC, the way the path of the bear damage reflection skills work is that the reflected damage gets calculated before the damage increase. I.E with the strongest damage reflection damage to the guy is increased by 60%, and the damage that is reflected is also 60%, but that second part happens first so you end up taking 60% damage while the other guy takes 160%: You don't take as much damage as the 60% reflection would imply.

Because the reflection is lower than it looks, you should have enough hp to weather your opponents' reflection, meaning the way to beat reflection fighters is to just hit them as hard as you're able. You want to use skills that get as much damage for the initiative spent as possible. Your build kind of hurts you here since you haven't invested in the tiger path, which deprives you of the high damage and +undefended damage% skills. Still, with enough stats you should be able to make up for the lower attack power.

If you do actually lose to reflection, you probably haven't been putting points into strength, so start doing that. I personally beat the game on an agility build with 11 strength but I've seen people say they did it with 6.

This is bang on both for the easy way to beat reflect builds as an agility build, and the mechanics of how reflect works.

K.O. them before they K.O. you. Tiger is your best stance (cobra being the worst).

Take advantage of the fact that everything you do will hit and your opponent will drop fast, making stamina management typically a non-issue. Don't forget that your own best defences will still work nicely.

You always go first, and you have a big initiative advantage as an agility build. As long as you have decent damage output and haven't wildly underdeveloped your own strength and thus HP you'll win comfortably.
