More than 6 hours played and the game feels horrible
Everything about fights is unbalanced. Enemies hit more, spend less energy, flee and defend more.

Doesnt matter if we have better stats, better hp, better energy pool or more attacks / defenses, the fight RNG just say f*ck you.

The first game was a master piece. This one feels like garbage.
引用自 Shui:
I don't think you understand the game yet, OP... and that's not necessarily your fault. It doesn't explain itself well. This is ironic since the game has WAY more tutorials than the first did, yet it doesn't really seem to explain the stuff you actually need to know in order to play it. There are a lot of icons that are a complete mystery as to what they mean. In the first game, you could hover over stuff for an explanation. Not here.

One idea is to try playing on Easy and see if that gives you a better experience and allows you to learn how stuff works so you can play on the regular difficulty.

You absolutely can get RNG-screwed but also RNG-blessed... that is the nature of RNG, after all... but there is a strategy to the game and ways you can maximize your odds of winning a fight. It's just a lot of pieces need to come together for that to work out favorably (having the right stats in relation to one another, having the right moves, managing the movesets correctly during the course of the fight...)

And losing fights is way more punishing in this game than the previous one. If you lost in Punch Club 1, so what? You don't really suffer at all. At some levels, you might still get skill points and can keep grinding it out until you advance. In this game, losing costs you GPP but that's how you get new moves... so you get locked from progressing. There aren't a lot of ways to get points for new skills outside of winning either.

The game definitely has its flaws compared to the previous, but I don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be. It's just different and may require a different approach.

Break through is good to drop the amount of hits you take.
But it will help the enemy to stay stable on his energy ratio.
Having double inhale paired with it will help you maintain a lot of attacks while receiving less from the enemy.

There are many many possibilities ; on what branch you took ; and how you sync your attack - defense - buff skills.

It is not a 1 option thing ; I describe bear with double inhale because that is what i played.
You could focus into brute str build.
your goal will be to crush before choking.
and there will be other builds like turtoise aspects that will totaly counter you on this by having high defense and good stam balance.
So having high stam and a double inhale backup with greatly help you to adapt to these fighters that counters you.
