Without steering wheel support??
I bought the game to play with my G27 steering wheel and then find out that it is not supported.
A racing game in 2020 without steering wheel support?

Are you looking to use a steering wheel in a motorcycle game?

I have heard that some of the fastest riders in motogp 19 were using wheels... Can't confirm though.

I have a wheel, but don't use it for MOTO games personally.

It make sense if you talk about a CAR RACING GAME. I know ot can be useful, but you can't expect Milestone to give you the support of the steering wheel. It's not realistic, have you ever seen a Bike with pedals and steering wheel?

It's so much easier to steer and get accurate throttle/brake input with a wheel and peddles. Go over to the Assetto Corsa forum and ask about wheel vs controller. Last time I checked MotoGP had as many motorcycles with a wheel and peddles as they did with a controller attached to the triple tree.

no mouse support? how come? :P

Well, I use my Fanatec wheel and pedals.
You'll see me in the 2 strokes leaderboards, up near the top.
But let's address the issue in hand.

If it no longer rotates, is it still a wheel?
If the maximum rotation is +- 60 degrees what is it doing?
Isn't a TILTING device more intuitive than a controller?
Isn't my method far more realistic than a controller?

Just try and open your mind, use some imagination!

To be fair, while the 60 degrees logic is valid, I don't think there is a reason not to ban wheels really: it makes the game more accessible for all ("""e-sport""") if everyone uses the standard controller, and there isn't a link to realism for using the wheel like car racing games. Of course this is one of the many ways of seeing the situation, since things like "I bought the game and I play how I want it" and "you can ban it from e-sports only" are perfectly valid, but I believe the motorcycle gaming community would benefit a lot if it doesn't become a pay-to-win experience like it happened to sim racing. Actually, I know quite a few people who switched to motorcycle games because they got tired of the high amounts of money spent in sim racing.

And also, it raises some philosophical questions like:
- 60 isn't a wheel, but is 61? What is the angle in which it becomes a wheel?
- some could argue that the definition of a steering wheel matches even if it rotates only up to 60°, because it would be theoretically possible for a car to reach that.

I hope you don't feel bothered by my point of view here, more trying to give a different vision on the topic than anything else really.

I honestly look at it like DOTA and macros. The community generally frowns upon it and I think it's not allowed in tournaments like the international but it's easy enough to do and no one is stopping you from doing it when you play.

Seeing as how the online in MotoGP 20 is just random lobbies I don't think it would be a problem from a competitive point of view, especially since the winner is generally whoever survives turn 1 and stays shiny side up, or so it seemed when I was achievement hunting.

I would disagree with the expense of sim racing, an old G27 can be had for the price of this game and plenty of top players at RSR get along fine with G27s and G25s. But that's a whole different topic.

As for expensive equipment being an advantage, top racers have almost zero ffb. Just the tiniest amount for information.
If I replaced the steering wheel with a straight bar no one would complain.
So I don't think that because it's circular should matter, it's the function that counts, surely?
Controllers are an absurd concept in terms of real world bike/car control, so if anything, ban them :steammocking:

Have you ever seen a Bike with a gamepad ?? how unrealistic...

My only input is that i wish there was a way to have smoother input for leaning. I really suck, but i feel like part of it is the lack of smoothness when trying to corner properly using a controller. The only reason i see for using a wheel is for that reason. I should note again, i suck and you won't ever see my name at the top of any leader boards.
