Careeer contracts and negociations

Happened to me, so I share it just so you know and can avoid that : be sure you end up contracts negociation and selection before passing the week 52.

Either you'll be stuck with your previous team for a whole new year.

Side note, if you wait until the end of the season and win the Moto3 championship all the Moto2 teams will want you (but you should pick a custom team because there's a bug). Don't know if the same is true for Moto2 to MotoGP as I'm not that far yet.

Well,here is all that I know then :
- Trying to negociate / refuse / let pass a contract with a specific team within a season will forbid you to try again during the whole season. So gambling in early season and low reputaiton is ... risky ! :)
- It seems that the contracts are way more interresting once the last race is over, depending on your results for the season of course
- Yeah, as said in OP even if the negociations are running, once the week 52 is over ... you're screwed ! Back to the same team, with same salary and so :'D

Nothing is worse than stuck in an official moto2 team for a year though :D

I am almost done with the Moto3 season and was hoping for a "top fictional" team to give me an offer but maybe I should not risk it then.

Fictional is good, just don't join one of the top real teams like Sky VR46 of Marc VDS.

You don't need to have a contract in play before week 52 from my understanding. I myself had an offer from a team with approx 5 weeks remaining and was negotiating with another. Upon clicking next season I was given the option to select a Contract. Either the MotoGP contracts I had been offered or my original Moto2 outfit. It didn't automatically place me back with my original, I had the final option to choose.
