Serious Lag Issue
Hello all. I have a pretty high end Laptop: i7 Core, NVidia GTX 670, 12GB Ram, Windows 7. I play a number of online games: Mechwarrior, LoL, etc. But for some reason, this game is the only one that I cannot play regardless of the settings. Even in the tutorial, when I attempt to attack there is almost a 3 second delay before the enemies react to my attack. The monsters slid across the screen or jump suddenly. When picking up money on the ground it takes several seconds to register. I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work, including running it optimized through Steam, running it outside of Steam, minimizing all graphic settings, and playing late at night when my connection speed is at its peak. I can't figure out why I am unable to play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having this same problem on my desktop but when i play it on my laptop is works fine i have a GTX 660 so it's not my graphics card.

same problem here, it's definitely a latency issue, but i don't know how i have bad latency considering EVERY game i have ever played i've had below 100 ping. This feels like it's at about 1500-2000 range.

i contacted nexon support and they said it was a firewall problem most likely but i added it to windows defender and malwarebytes and still same problem.

Did you ever resolve this? I'm having the exact same issue.

Strangely it started working after one of the patches. Then 2 nights ago they had a big outtage and patch the game again. Now the lag is worse than ever, a full 3 seconds between my attack and the animation hitting the enemies.

The lag has been pretty bad since last weekend. Nexon is having some issues with their ISP, which is sad because they switched to this one because the last one was worse. [GM] GlassRobot said they are still monitoring the situation. My best guess is that it will be fixed in time for Thanksgiving. They've already extended the purchase time for the Halloween costume & eggs.

Strange thing is that I'm on the exact same line as my brother, and he's not experiencing any of the lag I am. laneo5 mentioned too that he only has the lag problem when he's on his desktop.

I'm wondering if it's my hardware or software... I have a pretty new "gaming" computer, so this irks me quite a bit. I could try to run a virtual machine and see if it might be the OS causing it (I have windows 8.1)... I'll let you know how it turns out.

The virtual machine with win7 ultimate only lasted a few seconds into the loading screen before the whole (virtual) computer crashed. Could be related to the lack of proper graphics card... Also tried putting the lowest possible settings on my computer, but I'm still getting the 3+ second delays.

Alright, I finally did something that worked for me.

'netsh winsock reset' in an elevated CMD and a reboot did the trick. I have a program that came installed with the computer called Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Manager. Something with that had ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my network connection. But the winsock reset made it whine when I rebooted, but I kept the changes and I'm flowing in the game now.

No more 3 second delays on hits!

Glad to hear that you solved the problem, Sebben! I also have Windows 8.1. =)

I have a pretty high end MSI laptop with a 670 GTX Nvidia card and 12Gigs of Ram. The lag is horrible on Dragon Nest and only Dragon Nest. I am running Windows 7. I will try your "winsock" thing and see if it does anything.

The Dragon Nest servers have been having issues for the past two weeks. The GMs have been monitoring the situation & there may be a fix this week. Also, is the laptop overheating at all? I've had one catch on fire in my lap thanks to a faulty video card. >_< (Thanks, Nvidia) Anywho, that sounds like a pretty awesome laptop. =)

I cant even go in the game anymore

Strange. In this game I am getting pings of 330 ms but in others it is just 34-64. How2Fix servers.
