I'm not sure if anyone still plays, but I used to play this game a lot when I came home from school. It used to be the best game, especially before it was handed over to another company. The level grinding and farming were what made it fun. Back then, having a party was common, and even low-level players would get help from max-level players.

Now, the game has changed dramatically. With OP items that you can get just by typing in chat or equipping them, you can literally one-shot everything. There’s no need for level grinding or putting in any effort for gear. Previously, the OP items were shop-exclusive, and having them made it easier to reach max level in a day or a few hours. But back then, reaching max level was still a grind—and it was fun.

Compared to those days, Dragon Nest is dead now. On rare occasions, you might see 20–40 players active, but it’s nothing like it used to be. The game thrived before pay-to-win items and OP gear ruined the experience.

One of the worst aspects of Dragon Nest now is the bots farming for gold. These days, you can buy gold instead of farming, but the gold drop rates were always terrible. It felt like gold was the rarest resource in the game. Sure, you could buy gold, but there was always the risk of getting banned for it. Back then, farming with a team or grinding for gear felt rewarding. Dragon Nest could have done things differently to avoid this decline. If they had, the game might still be alive today. Sadly, the NA servers are almost dead, with most players switching to the SEA server. However, NA players trying to join the SEA server face significant ping issues. I wish they had created a global server so players from all regions could play together with better ping.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but my advice is to avoid this game —it’s basically dead. I’m uninstalling it because nobody plays anymore. It used to be fun, but not anymore. All my max-level characters, gear, and mounts will eventually be gone once the servers shut down.

It breaks my heart to see the state of this game now, I was a junior in highschool when this game came out and I used to think about this game all the time in class, and when I was walking home from school(my house was about 2 miles from the bus stop as I was in a special bus program that took me to a school outside my jurisdiction)and honestly it was the best years of my life. I used to skip meals at school and save my lunch money to buy Karma Koin cards at Walgreens/CVS to get the limited Halloween costumes for my Cleric and Warrior. What I wouldn't give to go back in time...
