Knife Blade
I had a knife blade drop, Base Damage/Base Cost: 4/16.

I was thinking of quality 5ing it and putting 3 stones of dominance in it so it is 19/1. Is that a waste, or would it be as good as it sounds like it would?

it wont be hard to get a qual 8 on that, so that saves you 1 slot for excellence / claw

i think most people are working from the base dagger which is 5/25, not much difference on a higher quality from that of 4/16

Thanks, what is "excellence / claw"? Also what other mods do you recommend mot the dagger?

I read most people were using the starter dagger, I was thinking with this having a much lower base cost I would only need 3 SoD to get it to 1 base cost, leaving 2 extra slots open for other mods. Is the extra 1 point worth the extra 2 slots it takes to get the starter to 1 BC? Thanks for the info.

Excellence is the charm that +1% weapon upgrade per level.
Claw is +5 to base attack and +20% weapon damage. These are separate modifier so they stack to each other multiplivily

Short term, you will get to 1 base cost faster & easier.
Long term, you will have 1 less base damage compared to other people. (Not a big deal, you'll see later why)

There're two purposes for dominance; one is of course lowering the cost, the second is to up the base damage, which you can consider it as another damage multiplier. You will get your weapon to quality 5...10...then eventually 15. Although different charm stacks multiplicatively, as with any other game of this sort, they stacks additively with its own kind. thus has diminishing return. For example, you have a Q8 weapon with 4 Excellences , 2 Claws and 3 dominances with starting base damage 5 and 25 base cost. And you also opted for Serpent 1 for your singularity point. This gives you the following states:

Base damage = 5 + 24 (dominance) + 10 (claws) + 10 (from singularity point) = 49
Base cost = 25 -24 = 1
Damage increase by 4% every weapon lvl
Damage increase by 40% from Claw

You can usually get your weapon of base cost 1 to lvl 250 or above when you reach the final boss
This means your weapon damage is:
49 * 11 (from Excellence)* 1.4(from Claw) * a (damage factor from lvling up, ignore this)

With this information, by doing some easy math,
one can work out what is their best charm upgrade that increases damage the most.
Remember that you will eventually reach Q15...so you have 15 charms to put in.

That means, you'll probably use more than 3 dominance, not to lower the base cost, but to increase your output.

Oh, I only recommend using those 3 charms on your main weapon as of current version. As for other utility charm, put it in other weapon and just lvl them to lvl 1 to take advantage of them. Hope that clears a few things up for you.

What's a good way to get all the Iron?
On the market, the first item to buy for BlackWax already cost me 10% of my Blackwax total.
And I haven't quite unlocked the 7th hotbar slot, yet.

Another question I have for you:
Would you like to make a player guide for the upgrade stuff?
I think every half-serious GC player needs that information.
And you type it all out every time, explaining it nicely to whoever wants to know.
Hope this doesn't sound too blunt. =)

One method is once you get a really good flame at the end of your galaxy(before entering the black hole). in your present galaxy go back to cleared shard( the first one going up to lvl 50 with 2 champions per area) and try to go thru them(should be a breeze) and in a short ammount of time you'll get grim chest where you can get sometimes metal + 2 weapon. Depending on what they are each is usually 12 iron each by dissambling them. so potentially 24 iron or 12 iron + some metal per grim chest. For grim chest, each upgrade regardless of price makes the counter go up so even the upgrades you dont need...if their cheap you take it :)

Does the counter reset after a black hole?

I have a question about the stone of dominance.

I just restarted, and I have my base weapon with 80% cost and % weapon level damage....I have a stone of dominance but my main weapon is currently only quality 2. IF I upgrade it to quality 3 and add the dominance, will the quality reduction/increase go up, if I later increase the weapons quality?

You say you can get to 15 quality eventually so 1 stone of dominance would then give -15 cost and +15 damage right? As long as it continues to go up.

My starter weapon is 5 damage/25 cost, so if you take 1 dominance on it, that would....eventually....be 20 damage/10 cost right...and 2 would boost it to 35 damage/1 cost)

Am I understanding that right? I don't wanna make any mistakes again and get stuck.
wulfster42 Mar 1, 2020 @ 11:47pm
Answered my own question lol. I added it and upped the quality, and it does go up with it, so now it's +4/-4.

My starter weapon has the following already

+level % damage
+Q-Q damage cost
80% leveling costs
+5 damage and +20% weapon damage

At quality level 4....i'm gonna keep focusing on only this weapon pretty much and just use other slots for buffs /rings etc...as it's damage is already way better ratio to gold then other weapons.

This would have made aHUGE difference in my last game, but....expecting people to have this is not cool...I don't know if I was bugged or what, but I just played the game and when with the heaviest weapons figuring they would eventually do the most damage...I was so wrong.

Lol my starter weapon vs a dagger (normal no mods) now does 1.8 mill vs the 200k for the same amount of money spent on each, pretty much not even worth upgrading the other one.

Question re: stones of dominance- is it possible to get ones other than +2/-2, and if so, how? If it's just random, then a huge number of stone pulls could be needed to achieve the 'loadouts' shown in this discussion, if they even can be matched.
