I felt the same about Witness and the Killer Demon. There didn't seem to be anyone else who was more likely to have done it, but the details didn't quite seem to add up, and it wasn't as satisfying as putting together the details of Carmelina's conspiracy. I actually looked at this thread hoping I'd learn that there was some secret third conspiracy I completely missed that was designed to frame Witness, Lydia, and Sam for something they didn't actually do. I mean, would professional assassins like Lydia and Sam really leave all that evidence lying around?
1. You can accuse Yuri Night of opening the Second Seal and Sam Day Break of the Third Seal and essentially get the same result as accusing Lydia of the second and Dainonigate of the third. This is what I did on my first playthrough before retrying the trial in about 100 different ways. Likewise, you can hit Sam on Seal 4.
2. As the Killer Demon is technically also somewhat guilty of The Crime to End All Crimes, you can accuse it and still get Dainonigate as long as Yuri is convicted of literally any of the seals. Yuri is more than happy to rat out literally everyone ever.
3. As Witness to the End is guilty of -trying- to cause Henry's Escape, it's quite easy to get him on this as well. Yuri can still go down for the Possession, and Akiko can still go down for the First Seal and everything stays pretty much the same from there.
I also didn't exile any of the remaining survivors, since they're all pretty likable, and I hired Crimson Acid to boot, since anyone that good at gathering information would be a fantastic investigator. Also because who am I to say no to such a stunning goat lady?
I actually found One Last Kiss exceptionally helpful, since she's solely responsible for bringing her own murder to your attention and guiding you to both finding her killer and the Paradise Killer. Although she's absurdly cryptic, her help led to finding out just how long the conspiracy has been going on for, and also led to the discovery that the only person Henry actually killed was his mom, and because he was put in a blind rage by the sudden influence of a demon that could be argued to be manslaughter, which saves him from execution.
That said, I feel pretty bad for Henry, because even if you completely absolve him of guilt he still ends up trapped on the dying island as a Citizen prisoner, with seemingly no chance of coming to Perfect 25. But who knows, maybe him being mostly demon now lets him survive and him and Shinji get to be demon pals.
Other than that I absolutely let the Day Breaks run free because they're good friends and you never know, with the huge power vaccuum maybe LD will find herself in a position to let them leave the Syndicate. Game's open ended enough that you can write the fanfiction you want in your head about what's going to happen with whoever you kept alive
Yeah, thanks to someone's tip, I found him going back. I said most things in that post, but I think One Last Kiss should have dropped a hint. Also I barely found K.HX too so maybe I'm just stupid, I literally found everything else and thought the other stuff was just a red herring, but I had enough to convict carmilita anyway and the whole thing should have unravelled at the trial, since I already broke akiko and yuri (especially yuri being established as going through the second seal), but I won't repeat that rant.
