Steam Deck Verified But Doesn't Launch
No matter what Proton compatibility version I select or DX version I launch with the deck asks if I want to install MS Visual C++ Runtime forcing me to abort the game. This is in Game Mode.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, unfortunately we haven't been able to get a Steam deck despite applying for dev units aaaaages ago so we are unable to test I'm afraid.

Works flawless on the Steam Deck in game mode for me.
You just need to install the Visual C++ Runtime.

What settings are you using? I keep crashing/freezing during my first conversation with Day Break

I started with default settings and the latest update of the steam deck.
in-game i only changed v-sync to 'off', frame smoothing 'off' and motion blur '0'.

So, it's been a while but I was able to get the runtime installed - went to the deck desktop and launched the game from Steam there and was prompted, as before, to install the C++ runtime...only in this mode I was able to click through and install the package and run the game.

Solved!!!
