But most weapons if lacking in damage have some other side effect to give use, so damage is important but isn't always everything.
I have all weapons unlocked and most leveled to max. I don't feel like blunderbuss, energy blaster or the Rifle are op. They have their use cases. I usually prefer a grenade as alchemy for the AoE though. Even Frostbow seems stronger, good primary and the secondary is so good for groups of enemies.
I really like the energy blaster secondary. Imo it could be a bit stronger. I think it got buffed recently. The range requirement for a perfect shot is so specific though, it could be a bit stronger. Might be wrong.
Overall, I feel right now the power level of all the weapons is very balanced. I can't think of a clear S-tier weapon since bird stick and solar guardian got nerfed.
Keep in mind I play on the middle difficulty (scholar) but even on scholar I feel enemies are damage sponges and there are a lot of them, and therefore any weapon that is AOE focused (good for the horde part bad for the sponginess part) or DPS focus just feels bad when compared to a weapon with a high damage per shot (Or per trigger pull in the energy blasters case). Perhaps this is simply a preference in weapon feel instead of power but every time I don't get to start with one of my favored Alchemy weps I groan. For example lets compare the frost bow to the energy blaster. The frost bow does 170 damage base with a freeze effect, if you hit a weak target you deal 221 base damage. The energy blaster base does 480 damage (per trigger pull) twice as much as the frost bow on a weak target. (these numbers are at my current playtime but they should progress linearly as you play more). The Blunderbuss does 330 damage on a regular shot (Note i am unsure how many pellets the secondary adds but if it is double than this number shoots up to 660). Now this is not to say the frostbow is bad, I think it is among one of my most liked weapons but even still the disparity between it and these two weps is quite large. (I did not mention the Magnus Rifle as I think it and the frost bow are about equal in power).
