Light Puzzle
Can someone help me?

I'm at Peak District, east of Pilsbury Castle. There's a light puzzle with a dozen mirrors or so.
I got the first 3-4 connected, but no further, as the light-beam either doesn't reach the next mirror, or because I can't direct it to any other one.

What am I missing?

I haven't found that one yet so I can't help you other than suggesting you look for metal grates or other things you can shine the light through or on. I found a few of these puzzles that required me to aim the light in a place I couldn't really see and I had to listen for a burning/sizzling sound to know I was aiming in the right place.

In general I find the light puzzles to be annoying. Sometimes you have to go back and forth to adjust the lights and while it's not really hard to complete most of them it is tedious. Doesn't help that my inverse Y axis setting doesn't work when using the puzzles...

I don't mind most of the game's systems but I wouldn't complain if they took out about 3/4 of the light puzzles and replaced them with something more interesting.

I usually prefer those light puzzles over the button ones, because, unless I just overlooked some clues, they are simply trial and error, and you just have to try 5-50 times until you've done all.... until this one, there was no light puzzle I had trouble with, even thought I might have redirected some wrong at first (and sometimes, the "aim" is a bit off)

In terms of your hint, I didn't see anything fitting, there are trees and rocks in the way preventing me from aiming at anything else, unless I just don't see what I'm supposed to aim at instead.

Yeah, lots of the puzzles aren't really what I would call puzzles...

There was one dial puzzle I found that I thought would be trial and error but after looking around I found clues. Too bad there aren't more of those.

The dial/circle ones are ok, IF you find a 2nd clue, otherwise, yea, trial/error.
Just found a new puzzle in Peak, 3 rows of gates with poison in between them. Don't know why some developers are that sadistic... You'll find a way through the first gates through trial and error, but the last row... 3 possible ways were closed off, 2 of them you'll see from the position at the start, so I ran in to see if the third one was fine, but was also closed off, and then the poison came out, didn't get out in time because the vision gets distorted and I died. There were 2 other ways which I would have to try.... but not today....

Just had to deal with one puzzle that seemed to be a combination but turned out to be a TIMED puzzle instead and once I figured that out it was super easy, then another that required more trial and error. Honestly the trial and error ones are all the same in the end, and it's not hard - just tedious.

are you by chance at the insane light puzzle north of reynards cave? i had to deal with that yesterday and solved it in the end, but even finding the beginning of it was pain. unfortunately the game does not save the states of those mirrors.

there are also 3 levers there that change door positions, so some ray does not get blocked and you can complete the puzzle. but if you are close to the beginning of that thing, i remember one ray barely could not reach the furthest mirror an you had to bounce to the closest right infront down a hill, to the left to the other closest and then to the closest in front of it again behind that rock and then finally onward to the far end and then it reached.

edit: solved it again. it consists of 17 mirrors -.- and the first one doesnt give of a ray as it is pointed to the ground. -.-* the premise is of bouncing the rays around obstacles. the following are the lever positions from left to right:

lever1: front; lever2: front; lever3: center

good luck :)

Yea, I think it was that, yes, I remember there were two mirrors right next to each other, and I managed to get past those to the next, but not to the one afterwards. Luckily for me, the starting point was either lighting into the air, or on a diaogonal line to the ground downside the cliff. But yea, the trees in front of it made it a bit difficult to find the start.
I'll take a look at it again later. - And I did see the "doors" but not the levers for them.

Just realized, for the 3 Gates - Poison Puzzle, there is actually a hint There's a bit of stone above the gates that are free, the first one is quite visible, the others are only seen when standing on the stairs and turning the light on

Found this puzzle, with all the mirrors, but I couldn't find any mirror with actual light coming out of it, so couldn't even begin. Nearby, an arrow-shooting puzzle with 7 buttons on different sides of a large wall, which wasted 30 arrows trying to find the right order. And don't get me started on those puzzles with the 6 bars and wheels and a lever, with pictures on the walls which supposedly show how to arrange the bars, but which in fact demonstrate a setup which is not actually possible.

I really liked the puzzles early on in the game. But now I'm in the Peak District I've just given up on them.

If you haven't sorted it then below should help, plus it's easier than describing it through text:
