"Bow Mechanic"
Just played the demo, i am fully okay with the games graphics, its probably low budget, Everything is working "okay" its surley not Triple A, but i did not even expect that.

My biggest Point of dissapointment is, that a Game, having the Name "ROBIN HOOD" inside of it, having such a bad Bow Mechanic and Movement is truly hilarious.

I would've give it a Chance but thats not what i expect from a Robin Hood Game.

Hey there, could you elaborate on what aspect of archery do you find most annoying?

I guess he expected the bow to shoot 9mm rounds of ammo and 10 shots per second

Maybe he came from The Hunter and expected a range finder scope :D

the bow mechanic works just fine, an arrow is not a bullet so the arrow drops rather fast. maybe there is a skill to learn when the drop isn't that bad with a better bow, didn't play that far yet.
i really like the game, old-school touch, the theme works, it's about immersion and i feel like Kevin Costner as Robin Hood :cartel_roflmao:

Glad you referenced Prince of Thieves instead of Russel Crows Robin Hood.

Robin hood got his fame by being a great shot. He didn't start as a great shot so getting better by raising skills still makes sense. Steam forums...

I take what everyone has said here, but using a controller makes aiming with the bow so frustrating that I quit the game in a rage. The aim with controller is all over the place. There really should be some sort of *optional* semi-lock when using a controller. i.e. manual aim, then lock on when close. I am sure it is just fine with keyboard and mouse - but, I am not that guy.

Ah, I do not use a controller so I can't say much on that. What make/model of controller are you using? I may consider my controller when I get home. I'm playing remote at the moment.

Bow feels fine, even with a controller,

Just put a few points into Accuracy, and allow for the drop off (you can also put points into range to lower that)

You also have a "slo mo" button (Y) on controller to make it even easier.

I really like it

I am using a standard Xbox controller. I just do not like playing games with keyboard/mouse (I am a lazy sort that likes to lie back on the sofa playing games!). If you try a controller you will see what I mean immediately.

To the Devs - this really needs looking at, a large percentage of your potential buyers will be using a controller - and at this stage it is unplayable with a controller. Incidentally, this is the *only* issue I have with the game, and I would imagine relatively easy to refine. I hope that this title does well for you - other than the controller issue, this is a good game.

@CyberMan - I doubt I can get past the initial frustration to gain any experience points. However, I am going to try again later, as I do like the game itself. I do know about the slo-mo mode (which is a good idea). To me it feels like I am the master bowman - take aim, pull the bow, then I get an attack of Parkinsons and my aim is just sweeping wildly. The same problem in using the controller stick as a mouse - real frustrating to hit the exact spot in menu's and when selecting items in the environment. This is my experience anyhow.

I'll never understand why people use controllers for certain types of games, when mouse is so much more accurate. You're using mouse all the time, so when it comes to game, once sensitivity is set, it's point shoot without even thinking. Controllers, oops too far, oops not enough all day long lol.

I only use them on racing, platformers, space or older turn based games like ff, and even then, it's not all game long, I regularly switch from controller to mouse.

Fine by me. I plan to pretty much bow everything anyway. When I sopped PvP 20 odd years ago due to maps too small for true sniping, I traded my sniper rifle for a bow. When Neverwinter Nights released, I became a true coop player and I despise the thought of PvP now. I love my bow :steamhappy:

I just cannot click with K/M - to me a keyboard is always there (my brain says 'hey, what shall we write today?'), but with a controller, I am not aware I am holding it, and therefore get a greater immersion. Everyone is different I guess.
Anyway - I have my solution. A solution where shooting dem deer has relevant amount of challenge to it - without being frustrating. I booted up my old Steam Controller - mapped the right pad to a mouse - problem solved (for me at least).
I do like this game - and whatever people think in the keyboard vs controller debate - the truth is - a lot of games use controllers, and if they do not find a solution, they will be posting negative reviews based on their negative experience - due to the janky implementation of controller support .

kinda wish the arrows stuck on enemies after shooting them
