Level up Axe, etc...

does anybody know how I can build a better axe? I got the one with copper but I don´t know how to develop further...
Same question with better bows or swords.

Upgrade your buildings. Blacksmith, furnace, shooting range are the main three that provide you with better bow recipes, better sword recipes/crafting, and better tool recipes. Bow schematics need to be unlocked at the shooting range with skill points so when you level up save a few. Some other buildings, such as the trapper's hut, will also provide skills in exchange for skill points.

Everything goes through the buildings, medicine, tools, weapons, armour and arrows. Arrows and bows once researched are crafted from your inventory though.

would you be able to tell me how to upgrade a building...I love the game so far, but as for location maps, tutorials, or even basic info anywhere on the net, I'm finding it very very difficult to learn the simplest things, perhaps because its so new. thank you

Click on the building you want to upgrade when you are using the construction table at your village. This will show you details about the building and what resources you need to upgrade the building. You will need to click directly on the three resource gathering buildings to access the menu that lets you take resources from the quarry, farm, and logging camp.

Here are a couple screenshots showing the manage option popping up when you mouse over a building and the menu you get when you access the building with a left click.
