It's ok, good game, it's not AAA game, it's not great or masterpiece game, it's felt little outdate like 15 year ago, yet I do enjoy played this game so far.

Very enjoyable and unique. For me personally it is a hidden gem. It is not perfect but it features a lot of different gameplay mechanics and a well crafted open world that is fun and rewarding to explore.
Furthermore all dialogues have voiceover, not all voices are top notch, but that's ok if you keep in mind that this game has not a huge budget.
The game starts a bit slow but if you keep playing, you'll unlock new and improved abilities, find exciting places, puzzles, new quests and keep expanding your village.
A lot of negative reviews come from people with 1 - 2 hour playtime. Meaning they just saw a fraction of what the game has to offer.
Combat for example feels lacking in the beginning but it gets better over time, since you need to unlock new moves and skills.
Then there is a lot of quality of life features like being able to run without it draining your stamina.

If you keep playing you'll understand how much love and care the devs put into this game.

One of my personal favorites are quests in which you help people rebuild. You might stumble upon a farm that has been destroyed and after helping, the farm is rebuilt so you see your actions have an effect on the gameworld.
I could keep writing about all the things I really like but it would take forever 😃

If you are up to a unique and cool open world RPG that is a bit clunky here and there but has a lot of heart, give it a try.

The devs also announced that they will patch and improve the game further, I am very excited about this!

The graphics are not 2024 level, but the content and playability are very good. It's a really enjoyable game that will keep busy for a long time.

Too empty and too short , but overall ok.
Zinnemann Mar 9, 2024 @ 1:26pm
It's not short! It's not empty.

It's strangley addictive. As soon as you think 'now it's become too repetitive' there's some new carrot on a stick to follow.
It's a B-movie mishmash of Skyrim, Ubisoft-Formula, some Witcher and some Survival-Crafter. It works, it's loveable, it's unique and lots of fun if it's your cup of tea.

Game is really fun until around lvl 2 buildings. Then the RNG drop crap to progress is very annoying. Diamonds and gypsum should not be behind some RNG gate.

I can see many features the devs put in place just to artificially increase game playtime. The thing is I would rather play a really fun game for 20 hours then to grind away at a 100 + hour game that only has 20 hours of fun.

Then there is the reputation system which you need 100% to get rewards. Thing is you cant miss a single quest, stolen goods, rescue, or camp to get 100%. Just to spite you the devs throw in several options to "sell" one of the reputation gains for some stupid sum of money. No reasonable player would ever do this but I guess they were hoping you wouldnt read one quest and accidentally select the money option. No real benefit to getting more than 40% but less than 100% rep that I can see. Its pretty much after you get 40% for the mandatory story quest you need to decide.....grind your life away for EVERY inch of the map completing every single event quest, stolen good, camp, ect.. or just stop playing a region after 40%.

Combat can feel clunky at times. Often times its just a war of repair boxes and arrows. You have to hit many enemies several times (have seen up to 7) in the head with a bow. Of course you have to hit them plenty with melee as well. Each hit degrades your weapon and so they eventually break and its back to camp to fix them. Not a fun mechanic. What "fun" does this add to the game?

The economy is busted. You have to pay money for everything. Robin and his band of merry men in forest have to pay taxes on every iron bar, repair kit, piece of cheese they produce. Thing is it isnt even that hard to get money. Its just annoying that this is such an out of place mechanic for this game.

Then there are the quests which are all some variation of a escort, go fetch, or defend. They all mostly feel like MMORPG quest design from WOW days but in a single player game.

I dont know I have enjoyed the game up until this point. Now it just feels like a chore.

Upon reaching the 3rd zone I felt a bit empty, I just reached 40% and did the main quest which I finished. Now I really don´t feel like doing anything anymore .... the game lacks of a few quality of life improvements which we have made a world of difference.

I do agree that it's very odd handcraft making in game had to paid with gold, I don't know why system make you paid gold when crafting stuff, there is no need to paid gold to craft something. I agree with about trying getting 100% rep, it's painful, and you had to be sure not to miss anything to reach 100% as well.

What you mentioned is true but that seems to be a core system in the difficulty, I doubt it will be changed. But just to mention two examples, a single "sort inventory" button on the town chest" and "transfer all" on all production buildings would go a long way to ease things.

The game hasn´t really sold well, so I am not getting my hopes up on any further improvements. As it seems the devs aren´t likely to get their money back.

I do hope the devs make money on this game. It is still a good game it just lacks a few balancing options that aren't even that hard to implement. The core game is all here and it would be such a shame not to tweak a few numbers like reputation gains or economy amounts to really transform this game into something special.

I can see the problems mentioned above. I am still having fun; just starting with Sherwood Forest after 100%ing Barnsdale (which wasn't hard or tiresome). Some more QoL options and light design changes (give an option to gain 100% an alternative way) would be welcome in my opinion as well. It's a cool game and I hope it improves.

I agree! In light of the price I dont think those issues make it a bad game. Im still enjoying it.

I'm quitting after 30 hours. Too much frustration with the terrible combat. The game gets more grindy and terrible the longer you play. It feels less than half-baked. An OK effort, but probably could have used another year or so before release.

For the price it´s a typical old style game in the era where we didn´t have patches, people bought their games and had to stick with what was delivered. The faces of the characters also look like something for that time. :-D

But it´s not a bad game per say, it´s just not where it could be. I think the devs gave up on some things along the way.

I'm starting not to like it. I just got everything to T2 and it seems like I spend 20 minutes every time I get back to camp making trips back and forth to different chests and buildings and buying salt and making 50 roast does and selling them and moving overflow resources to a random chest I found in some other building and not caring about anything at the herbalist except healing pots, etc, etc. In fact, I think just writing this down is helping me quit the game and do something else.

The game desperately needs QOL improvements. I don't want to play Errand Boy Simulator.
