For those that find the game challenging (early levels)
There are some game mechanics that allow you to progress easier. If you do not know about them, you will be at a disadvantage. Here are some combos that trivialize combat.
1) Sneak + Ranged (including magic): you can get both pyromancy and cryomancy skills right from your starting castle in your very own library. Once you have a spell/bow/gun, simply approach your target, click X on your keyboard to sneak, and then hit the target with your ranged skill. This will do two things: 1) improve your sneak ability 2) keep you hidden to unleash a few more hits giving you the element of surprise. My personal favourite is Cinder Bullet (pyromancy skill) + Sneak - try it and you will know why...
2) Heal/Regen + Any combat style. There is no substitute for a healing spell unless you are a health sponge to withstand a horde of goblins. Go to Elderglen city and visit the Church (main road and to the left before you hit the stairs). That will start you on a few chained quests to get healing spells.

There may be other combos/styles that will allow easier progression in the future, but this is what I have personally found so far.
GLHF

Edit:
3) Necro Bolt: put a point in Necromancy to get the necro bolt. Once you skill it up a bit you can add more charges to it. Can you say "Death to flying Goblins!" and everything else?
4) Did you visit the Elderglen smith yet? Turn right as you spawn in the city and go up the stairs. Nearby is a blacksmith that sends you on an interesting quest... You won't be disappointed if you agree to help him.

Prior to getting the heal spells - which I did not know about, so thanks for that - I always carry a lot of healing potions and assign them to the Z radial menu in No. 1 slot. Holding down ALT with your thumb and tapping No. 1 lets you drink potions and potions have no cooldown. I drink 3 or 4 in a split second. I'm definitely going for those heal spells right now though!

I've never tried Cinder Bullet but will do so asap.

EDIT: I just used it and OMG, what have I been missing. What an effective spell it is! Until ranged weapons are fixed this is my new Ranged ability, so to speak. On ALL my characters. 👍

Burning ticks give Sneak XP. Welcome to being a stealth god. :3

What with being able to summon 6 militia fighters (via Horn spell in Brittlebean church), Cinder Bullet and stealth attacks with it the mobs should be quaking in their boot now. 😄 Who needs Tombstone. 😉

Find the Tombstone spell book in the graveyard in Wolfsomethingorother Forest and then pew pew pew.

I found a spell book that gave me a Sphinx Cat morph spell so I don't even have to use Donkey anymore, but I cannot remember where I found it. If anyone knows leave a comment!

the Dev is working on fixing spells that cost no mana/stamina, and this is one of those. Tombstone is fun, but I enjoy stealth sniping with Cinder Bullet more, thanks to N.A.T.

Parford Lake area. Look around in the distance and a tall, pointed tower can just be seen. It's at the top of that.
