How to delete buildings/decorations?

Just started, did the decoration groundskeeper quest and misplaced one of the fences and I can't figure out how to delete it and googling it takes me to other games.

Hey so late reply I hope you figured It out. If not I literally just did after googling this a bunch and your post was the only one I’ve seen.

You double tap e when it says to interact with the decoration put down.

Had this same issue. It took a bit of figuring out but you just have to hold E for a second to delete. It's fidgety though and doesn't always work.
