What is the best 1h sword in the game? and how/where can I get it?

So far I've only found a dwarven sword with 37 dmg. I dont know how or where to get a better sword. Also do the weapon speed matter? I cant really tell the difference between a sword with below average speed(dwarven sword) and a above average speed sword(dagesse sword).

i found that too but i think its dmg is bugged? first hit only does 25 dmg for me but my dwarven sword first hit does 37 and my sword skills hit harder with dwarven sword too.

Anyone want to point me towards a good 2H sword? I'm still using the greatsword from the starting zone.

Weapon speed matters but the descriptions don't appear to line up. I have the starting Copper Greatsword, Knight's Claymore and Copper Ultrasword, all 2H. Both copper weapons were listed as "average" speed, and the KC is listed as "below average". The Greatsword and KC have the same speed and a 3-hit combo, whereas the Copper Ultrasword has a slower 2-hit combo.

I find the damage and speed in the descriptions to be all over the place; it's the problem with having stats in the descriptions that are not links to the actual damage - when you edit one, the other stays the same. I don't think I've seen any 1h sword with more than 30 actual damage (yet).

I recommend trying the weapons out and seeing how they work for you. The real damage will come from abilities.

Dwarven sword is 37dmg per hit. It's actually called Dwarven Decorate Shortblade. I found it in Elderglen Forest hidden chest. It mostly gives Dwarven hammer and Dwarven Dec Shortblade but I did find a Dwarven mace once. I tried farming it but only seen those 3 types of dwarven weapons so far

I found several instances of a 1H sword with 50 damage called Heavy Longsword in Bitterbean Hold. The crates are full of 1H weapons.

true but using the weapons from there, they only deal 20-25 dmg per hit so i think the dmg on most weapons are incorrect? or it might just be a bug on my game because everytime i use a 1h sword with 50 atk, they only do 20-25 dmg. also bitterbean makes me so much money selling everything from there lol.

Hello. I use to like the Spear, but once I got the Rose Dagger, it was a game changer. Will I use Bow, Spear and Dagger. Its just really fast, the Rose Dagger. Spear is great too. Haven't been using the Rose Dagger much since I have been noticing weapons you have equip keep disappearing.

Comes down to it, think its more of a player preference. I like the Dagger, Spear and Bow. Don't have a pic of the Boar Spear, it disappeared again (every few days). Have the Dagger and Bow thou.

Can craft the Copper Ultra Great Sword if struggling to find a great sword. Bandits will drop the knightly one that does 35, ultra does 40 and is fairly easy to craft. Haven't found anything better than those two for now. Though I mostly use the Greatsword to send mobs flying. Blacksmith in Eldenberg (SP?) also sells a greatsword that does 50.

Hello! I recently found the "Black Flame Tongue" sword, in "Crypt of the Warbound" (or something like that) in the "Flowing Sands" zone. It's description states it at Standard speed and 50 attack. It also has a special move that lets it act as a weak light source and recover player health from dead enemy bodies.

What is the "Eldern Officer's Sword" and where is it found?

For folks looking for two-handed weapons, the "Greenwarden" axe is found in the giant tree in Parford Lake, but you need level 5 Two-Handed and Druidism before it lets you take it. It's speed is Slow, but it's cited at 70 attack, which is the highest I've seen so far in the game.

Found a pair of enchanted daggers in the fort near the western lake with a island in the middle. Its enchantment removes its parry function and replaces it with the ability to set ur daggers aflame to deal burning dmg and give a light source. They do crazy dmg with burn but the duration of the burn seems very inconsistent. Sometimes I have to relight them after 15 seconds and other times they seem to last minutes. Made me respect from necromancer to daggers so fast. The slide from daggers is crazy anyways so its worth picking up no matter the build.
