Vampire not working?

I've been bitten, says I have 7 days to be cured, waited 14 days, and....nothing happened. Magic tree was not unlocked, stamina and such isn't draining. Is there something else your supposed to do?

You probably just got the cough that causes bloodloss. You'll see a message saying you have been infected with Vampirism in the bottom left of the screen, if the bite is done right. Sometimes it takes several bite attacks before you get to be a vampire.

....yes, I'm aware of the cough.

In the bottom of the screen, as I said, It stated I was infected, and had 7 days to be cured, and NOTHING HAPPENED.

I did NOT get the cough. I was infected with Vamp juice, and then nothing happened afterwards.

I KNOW it wasn't the cough, as I was not taking health damage afterwards, nor was I coughing up blood.

I've got vampirism and the Feed ability, but even though I've feed enough to hit vamp lvl 3, I can't unlock any more skills with my current free skill points. Was really looking forward to the night vision.
