Help: Thonargond force field

In the question Thonargond Citadel/Find a way to disable the force field, I'm stuck. I got a clue, but now can't remember what it said and can't find it in my inventory. I assume disabling has something to do with the 4 panels, but I've not been able to disable the force field on any settings I've tried. Any assistance is appreciated.
